Greg Jones
An accomplished pedal steel and guitar player, Greg Jones lends his
musical talent and over twenty years experience to the Renfro Valley
band. He began playing the guitar at the tender age of six, expanding
his musical abilities by mastering the pedal steel.
A stranger to the pressure of performing he is not, having taken part in steel guitar conventions in Lexington, KY; Knoxville, TN; Branson, MO; and Portsmouth, OH. Greg toured the east coast, midwest and the Bahamas (Carnival Cruise Line) with regional bands, opening shows for popular country music stars such as Marty Stuart, Confederate Railroad, Rhett Akins and Hal Ketchum.
Greg also performs vocals, lead guitar and lap steel while touring with the “High Ridin’ Heroes” band from the Cleveland, OH, area. An Athens, OH, native, Greg Jones now resides in London, KY, restoring old steel guitars and tube amplifiers as a hobby. In 1999, Greg was chosen “Best Instrumentalist.”
