Betty
Lou York, "Everyone's Favorite Girlfriend," has
been a regular at Renfro Valley since 1991. The foundation of her excellent
comedy routine is that she is able to poke fun at herself first, and
the oddities and the expectation of the rest of the world next. Betty
certainly isn’t shy about poking fun at herself. In doing so, she
treats the rest of us to everyday lessons about life, beauty, youth,
security and love. Betty was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky, and grew
up in Richmond, Indiana, she married high school sweetie, George York.
George, along with their two sons, Steve and Scott, gets more than an
occasional mention on Betty’s comedy routine.
Betty can be seen on the Jamboree and Classic Country shows. Renfro Valley is mighty proud to have Betty on stage. Her comedy and "heart rendering" stories are available on CD and cassette at the Country Music Store.
