Judge Ray Corns

Judge Ray CornsJudge Ray Corns, a nationally recognized humorist and motivational speaker, began life in a log cabin in the hills of northeastern Kentucky. The eldest of six children, he was the first in his family to graduate from college, receiving his degree from Berea College in 1954.

Judge Corns served as legal advisor to two Kentucky governors, Chief Legal Counsel for the Kentucky Department of Education, Juvenile Judge, Commonwealth’s Attorney, Franklin District and Circuit Court Judge, Commissioner of the Kentucky State Police, Secretary of the Kentucky Justice Cabinet, and the Kentucky Public Advocate. Through it all, his humor has remained close to his log cabin and country roots.

Judge Corns appeared frequently in Renfro Valley beginning in 1972 and has had cameo roles on the Barn Dance on many occasions. He has entertained diverse audiences across the country with his down-home brand of humor and inspiration. In fact, his humor has been shared several times on the Paul Harvey Noonday News.

He serves as the “Prime Minister of Fun” on the weekly taping of the Woodsong’s Old Time Radio Hour, a syndicated grass-roots music program originating from Lexington, Kentucky, and heard around the world on more than 500 radio stations. The Judge appears weekly on the Renfro Valley Classic Country Show.

Judge Corns has two daughters, two grandchildren and lives in Frankfort, Kentucky, where he shares his home with several feline companions.
